As you know, we are always looking for new apps to add to our online library of educational fun! We recently had the chance to try a couple of math apps and are so excited to share them with you. Both of these apps are free in the app store (or full versions can be purchased for a fee).
We enjoyed trying out the Splash Math for Grades 1-5 app as well. This app again combines colorful graphics, fun characters and sounds, and several different methods of learning math. The Splash Math apps run very smoothly on the iPad. You are able to enter in a parents email address for weekly reports of your child's progress. We love the variety of learning opportunities found within one math app and that the learning opportunities are tailored to each child's learning level or school grade. There is a daily limit of 20 questions in the free version of this game.
If you are looking for some new educational games for your children, I highly recommend adding these Splash Math apps to your learning library!
Our daughter is four years old and in Pre-K so we gave the Splash Math for Preschool & Kindergarten app a try first. Our favorite aspect is that there are so many different math learning opportunities within this one app. Your child can choose counting numbers, comparing numbers (which is greater or lesser), addition, subtraction, measurement, geometry/shapes, and more! Because there are so many options and different types of learning, this game is captivating and challenging for quite a while. The app uses colorful graphics, fun characters, and voices, and several different methods and techniques to present different mathematical skills. There is a lot of positive feedback with correct answers and gentle redirection and correction with wrong answers. Children have the chance to earn "prizes" when they complete different units of study. There is a daily limit of 20 questions in the free version of this game.
